Twice winners of Scotland’s traditional music Live Act of the Year award (2016 and 2011), and celebrating their 15th anniversary in 2020, Skerryvore ‘s unique fusion of folk, trad, rock and pop has firmly placed them as one of the country’s biggest and best – loved acts. With a worldwide fanbase – grown from regular touring throughout the USA, Canada and Australia, as well as the UK and Europe – the band have amassed over 50,000 social media followers and almost four million Spotify plays.

Back in 2005, Skerryvore was born as a quartet: brothers Daniel (accordion) and Martin Gillespie (pipes, whistles and accordion), steeped in the Scottish west coast ceilidh tradition on the Isle of Tiree, were joined by friends Fraser West (drums) and Alec Dalglish (gui tar and vocals) – bringing a collective background in brass, wind and jazz bands with blues, folk and country influences.

Fast forward 10 years, add Craig Espie (fiddle) and Jodie Bremaneson (bass), bring in album producer Alan Scobie on keyboards and mix in Glasgow’s rich music scene – including several university courses and sell – out gigs at the O2 ABC – and the band are celebrating their first decade by launching their own 6,000 capacity festival in Oban on Scotland’s west coast (to later become Oban Li ve) in 2015. Now in their fifteenth year on the road, and with acclaimed piper and whistle – player Scott Wood completing the line – up, Skerryvore will follow up on the success of their 2018 album EVO with the hotly anticipated release of their first live album in 2020.
